Lodging

If you are looking to stay overnight near the venue, we have a couple of recommendations, but you're also welcome to look for and explore your own options. Our top recommendation is to stay at Temecula Creek Inn if possible, since this is where the full wedding day will be and possibly some of the extra events such as the Welcome Party and is a great central pickup location for the optional Winery Tours.

We reserved room blocks (below) for Friday, March 31st-Sunday, April 2nd (2 night minimum for most places) under the name of Wilson-Flanders Wedding. If you are wanting to extend your stay past these dates, feel free to call the hotels directly and they can assist you if you mention you are with the Wilson-Flanders Wedding room block.

To reserve one of the room blocks, click a link on one of the hotels' name and it will take you to making a reservation with a discount. We could only block 10 rooms at a time per hotel, so if you find one is "booked up," email our wedding coordinator, Megan Kaye at m.kayeevents@gmail.com so she can inquire if there is more availability at the group rate.

The last day to book at the room block rate is February 1st, 2023. We recommend booking a hotel as soon as possible.

Tips for booking flights:

  • Sign up for Scotts Cheap Flights Email Alerts (it's free!) and put in your home airport and where you want to go to get alerted on the best deals (this is how Nick and I have scored round trip tickets internationally to both Greece and Sweden for $500!)

  • Book 1-3 months before a domestic trip and 2-8 months before an international trip (aka the goldilocks window) - but by all means, if you see a good deal - get it!

  • You can cancel for free for up to 24 hours (with some caveats outlined in this article), giving you time to make sure you want that flight.

  • If you’ve booked a flight with free changes (typically any fare over basic economy), keep an eye on the price even after you’ve booked. If it drops, you can cancel your original fare and book the cheaper one; you’ll get the difference back in credit you can use on a future flight.

  • Sign up for Google Flight Alerts for a flight path & date that you want to go and it will email you when prices change.

  • Utilize travel rewards credit cards points while making sure to pay them off in time to have partial or fully paid for flights by your other purchases.

  • You can also use a schedule change to your advantage. If an airline significantly changes (or cancels) your flight, you can ask to be accommodated on another flight or get your money back if you no longer want to go. Sounds annoying to deal with the schedule change, but it can get you a better flight for free.

    • Let’s say you’ve booked a one-stop flight from Sweden to Ontario with a two-hour stop in London. The airline switches you to a later flight that now includes an eight-hour stop in London and a 2am arrival in Rome.

    • Now say there’s another flight—nonstop Sweden to Ontario—that you didn’t originally book because it cost a lot more. You can call the airline and say that the new schedule won’t work for you, and you’d like to be put on the nonstop. If there’s room, they’ll do it, and you won’t have to pay anything additional for the more expensive flight.
